SUMMER SKIN TIPS First, there is no point wearing a sunscreen product unless it offers both UVA and UVB protection (UVA protection guards against ageing, while the UVB against burning). Look for the words ‘broad spectrum’; they are critical on labelling and mean the sunscreen will protect against all of the sun’s rays, and help prevent sunburn and skin cancer. 1Splashing your face with water during summer is one way to cool skin, but once the water evaporates this action provokes dryness. Skin mists contain nourishing emollients such as glycerin, hyaluronic acid and vitamin E, so once they cool skin they hydrate as well. 2To help moisturisers penetrate faster, dampening the skin with a facial mist before you press on day creams or sunscreen helps to aid absorption. 3If you forget to pack moisturiser on a trip away, use a facial mist straight out of the shower and press it into skin: it will nourish it immediately. 4There’s nothing worse than going from the golf course to dinner without being able to refresh your make-up. A spray of facial mist gives make- up and the skin a new lease on life and allows you to reapply make-up immediately over the top. 5Spray a mist at least 20cm away from the skin. This ensures a fine mist will coat the complexion and refresh. Spray too close and the product will drip off the skin immediately.
